
Dr. Cynthia W. Brown, Medical Director
Cynthia Brown, MD, is an internist and family medicine provider at Hamilton Health Calhoun in Calhoun, GA. She is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She attended the Medical College of Georgia and completed her residency at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Brown is a longtime resident of Gordon County and loves serving the community in which she lives.

John Early, President
John W. Early II is a resident of Calhoun, GA, a graduate of the Auburn University School of Pharmacy, a retired clinical pharmacist, past owner of Early Drug Co, past mayor Pro Tem of Fairmount, GA, past chairman of the Gordon County Board of Education, a member of the Gordon County Gideon Camp and a member of the the Calhoun First Baptist Church.

Betty Voiselle, Treasurer
Betty received her Registered Nursing degree from Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, TN. She worked at a small county hospital/nursing home in Tennessee, where she was also a Nursing Home Administrator. After transitioning to Home Health, she served as a Clinical Nurse, Director, and corporate consultant for over 30 years. Betty became a volunteer at Healing Hands Clinic of Gordon County following her retirement, filling many roles, including Board Treasurer, Clinical Nurse, and Patient Assistance Drug Program Advocate.

Dr. Ted Pennel, Board Member and Volunteer Provider
Dr. Pennel was a private practice internal medicine physician from 1988 until 2007. He served as Chief Hospitalist CMO and hospitalist at Advent Redmond from 2007 to 2011 and as Hospitalist at Advent Gordon from 2012 until present, serving as Chief Hospitalist for part of that time. Dr. Pennell is board-certified in Internal Medicine, attended the Medical College of Georgia, and completed his residency at the University of Florida Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.

Charry Chaapel, Board Member
Originally from Western New York, she and her husband, Thomas, moved to Houston, TX, where she was the surgical coordinator for 5 Podiatric surgeons. Moving to Georgia in 2002, she re-entered the field of Podiatry after working in the Veterinary world for a few years. She retired in July 2012and, in December of that year, answered an article in the Calhoun Times about the formation of a free medical clinic in Gordon County, which was looking for volunteers. She is a Board member, a volunteer, and is acting secretary.

Jeff Ruddell, Vice President & Linda Ruddell
Local long-time business owners of Calhoun Paint and Decorating, Jeff is still employed but hopes to retire soon. Linda is retired from the banking industry, serving as Trust Operations Officer for several local banks. Both are active members of First Baptist Church, teaching senior Sunday school, and have been members of the Gideons International since 1979. They have two sons, Brian and Matthew Ruddell.

Tracy Farriba, Board Member
A lifelong resident of Gordon County, she attended Floyd College of Nursing, where she obtained her nursing degree, and Kennesaw State University, where she earned her Master’s in Business Administration. Tracy is employed by Advent Health as Director of Physician and Community Outreach for Gordon and Murray Counties. Tracy served as the 2021 Chair of the Gordon Chamber of Commerce, participates on other various boards supporting agencies in Gordon County, and is the Coach of the Calhoun High School Majorettes. She and her husband Joe have one daughter, Kasey Farriba.
